Creative Schools

Creative Schools is a flagship initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme to enable the creative potential of every child. Creative Schools is led by the Arts Council in partnership with the Department of Education and Skills and the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.

We are delgihted and extreemly lucky to be engaging with the Creative Schools initiative this year and next. We recently met with our Creative Assosiate Julie, who has been working hard with our creative focus class – Ms Ryan’s, Rang a Trí. They have been brainstorming some ideas on how we can make our school a more creative place. They have also engaged in different creative activites such as wand making, creative drawing and even took Julie on a tour of our school grounds and garden. (She was very impressed!!)

We have now engaged all pupils in our ‘Children’s voice’ section of the project, where pupils had the opportunity to vote on what areas of creativity they would like to participate in. The results are in and we can’t wait to get planning for the year ahead. Stay tuned for updates of our Creative School journey here and on our Social Media platforms.
