This year, our school was filled with ceol, damhsa, agus spraoi 🎶💃☘️ as we celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge in style! Throughout the week, students took part in a range of activities that embraced our Irish culture and language.
The highlight of the week was our St. Patrick’s Day parade ☘️🎉, led by Seán the Piper 🎵, whose traditional Irish music set the perfect tone for the celebrations. We were also treated to a fantastic performance by The Turfmen 🎻, a talented traditional music group who played lively Irish tunes that had everyone clapping along. 👏
Our students showcased their own talents too! Irish dancers 💃 wowed us with their impressive footwork, while different classes performed Irish songs and poems 🎤📖 for their peers. 6th Classplayed their part in promoting the Irish language by reading Irish books 📚 to Senior Infants, inspiring a love for Gaeilge among our younger students. 3rd and 6th class participated in Biongó alongside their parents 🤩
To add to the excitement, there were plenty of Irish competitions 🏆 throughout the week, encouraging students to engage with the language in a fun and interactive way.
A huge go raibh maith agaibh 🙌 to all the students and teachers who took part and helped make Seachtain na Gaeilge 2025 a memorable celebration of our language and heritage. Bígí ag caint as Gaeilge! 💚
